About Gillian and Grace
With the cost of transplant exceeding $500,000, transplant patients are unable to shoulder the financial burden of such a procedure. The Children's organ transplant association (COTA) is a national charity dedicated to organizing and guiding communities in raising funds for transplant needy patients. In Maroa/Decatur and Golden volunteers are raising funds for transplant patients like Gillian and Grace.
Born on June 3rd, 2005, Gillian was diagnosed with dysplastic kidneys, and doctors at St. Louis Children's hospital in St. Louis, Missouri recommended a life-saving organ transplant. Gillian received her kidney on December 8th, 2008. She still has many appointments and labs to pay for.
Born on November 3rd, 2009, Grace was diagnosed with kidney disease. Doctors at St. Louis Children's hospital recommended a life-saving organ transplant. Grace has not yet received a transplant. An estimated $70,000 is being raised by volunteers.
